I said a two year visa. This is a short term bolt hole not a home for life. I completely agree they need to go back to Ukraine to rebuild but why would you deny the kids the chance to live somewhere safe for a couple of years? It seems only women and kids are allowed out at the moment so unless you're expecting a babe in arms to wield an AK-47, what is their country losing by ensuring the next generation survives?
