How are the plebs watching movies?

No seriously? How do they do it?
Recently discovered Silicon Valley, and without anything more interesting to do I've started watching it in the background.
    It has some fun lines.

But it's £18 a season on amazon video and it has 6 seasons. How the **** are normal people affording that?
You can't be a professional and still torrent stuff.

Have we gotten to a stage where we have ring-fenced knowledge? We are already doing that with news sites... but most of them are miss-information anyway.

Are people just happy with the nonsense Netflix has on it?

It's not difficult to understand - if you want to watch it you pay for Netflix. Dump Amazon Prime if you're that upset about it.

And it's not movies - if it's 6 seasons it's TV (which Netflix is better at than Amazon). If you want movies stay with Amazon or swap to Disney+

    Jeez...

Do you want us to explain how to watch sports as well?

Or will your head explode at having to pay for Sky AND Discovery+?

It’s not on netflix. Not quite sure about the rest but I would presume it’s same model - woke garbage movies bought for pennies and sold to the masses.

yeah, about that…? How do people afford sky, disney, netflix etc?

people have the choice now of having heat or put food on table…

just TikTok, Youtube and porn for them then.
Or, I dunno. The BBC is probably the cheapest quality content available in the UK.

You seen the price in the cinema recently?
When I was growing up it was cinema, or wait YEARS for a TV release.

We just have Amazon Prime. And iPlayer and All4.

            And yet somehow we manage.

I just wait until the show I want to watch is free. Typically means I'm 6-12 months behind.
Or if it's an older show I might buy it on DVD for far less. It does irk me that a digital purchase typically costs more than a physical one.

I think he wants the equivalent to one of those dodgy satellite cards that unlocks all of the channels for £50 from the bloke who sells 2nd hand TVs. Sorry mate doesn’t work with Amazon.

Disney+ cost £50/year when I signed up (Mar 2020), then went up to £60 in Mar 2021. That works out at £5/month, and some people will be able to split the cost (if they're sharing a house); I've never paid for "early access" (e.g. Black Widow), because I'm happy to wait until it's available in the standard bundle.

I agree about Amazon Prime; I have my watchlist, and I check in every so often to see what's "free" (bundled).

I also still buy DVDs, especially for box sets of TV series. Taking "Frasier" as an example, it currently costs £40 to get all 11 seasons on DVD. If you want to stream them, it costs £110 (£10 per season).
