I don't believe Facebook is sending you emails if you don't have a Facebook account. Even they are not that blatant.

However, Facebook does use tracking cookies and all manner of things to monitor pretty much everyone on the planet. If they don't have a direct connection to you, they'll have an indirect one from people you know who do use Facebook products. Don't forget they own WhatsApp and Instagram too, plus others I'm sure.

Are the emails definitely from facebook, rather than ad.facebook.xyz.com - loads of those doing the rounds and very easy to get caught out.

I wouldn't be surprised if their cross-site cookies have snared you, can we test it with deliberate ad-terms?

No idea, I use Safari and DuckDuckGo and clear my cache regularly, I never have that problem.

I have spoken about products or places to go and then the adverts pop up on my instagram. Am sure of it - happened a few times.
