    Laying a massive cable

Electricity cable that is. The world's longest under-sea electricity cable, transferring green power between Norway and the UK, has begun operation.

Pretty neat. from a brief read it sounds to be basically a load balancer.

Well thankfully it's not a thread boasting about your latest trip to the toilet.

I thought it was about a massive bet on GBP/USD pair, also known as cable.

As it's only to transfer 'green power' I'm interested in the technology that can tell what source the excited electrons come from and can reject those that are not from 'green' sources.

I know it's Monday morning and you're probably hungover and depressed, but this is particularly poor attempt. Purpose != Capability. If I plug a hedge-trimmer into my extension lead, that's what it powers.

That might be true for you, but none of our hedge trimmers work if plugged in to an extension lead.

Its not his fault he needs an extension!

Plugged my trimmer into an extension lead yesterday and was cutting away nicely but forgot the extension lead was trailed over the wall I was cutting ivy from and kaboom Last year I went through the trimmers own wire and this year the extension cord, next year I'll buy a petrol cutter

I once ran the lawnmower over its own cable. A bit of a bang. Reconnected the wires (proper electrical tape then securely wrapped in gaffa tape) and it was fine although the part where it plugged into the mower wasn't all that great afterwards.
