Given a good 95% of the agent calls I get are related to the field I am in and what I do I assume its the same for everyone

I am happy to be proven wrong, it’s no bad thing being wrong, as long as you’ve done at least a little bit of research on a subject to at least show you’re not just coming in blindly on a subject asking others to think for you

5 years with one client, in the same/similar role .... and now being offered a perm position with client in same/similar role ..... isn't that asking for trouble? Forget the pay, benefits, notice period etc, what about the risk of HMRC coming knocking on your door?
