For the first time in history, it's going to stop raining men... The Weather Girls' 1982 disco hit has been given a woke makeover to use 'more inclusive' pronouns.

With the blessing of the song's writer, Paul Shaffer, it has been updated to change 'men' to 'them'.

The rewrite, released to mark World Pride month, aims to make everyone feel included and to celebrate non-binary and transgender artists.

It means the chorus to the karaoke favourite will become: 'It's raining them! Hallelujah! It's raining them! Amen!'

'Them' is an objective pronoun (3rd person plural) and should be receiving a verb. Correctly, its raining ON them, 'its raining them' makes no sense. They should think of a new pronoun for this group of people something like 'thoseWhoInsistOnBeingLovedCosToleratedIsn'tEnough '.

Surely the gender-neutral replacement for "men" is not "them". It's not correct grammar.

I think it's correct that women should be objectified more, it's not OK this song was so sexist to males originally.

So there's mother nature, single woman, lots of 'she' in the song. Yet all they change is the 'men'.

Most of the lyrics have been written if you care to listen. It's not just the headline "them". Deary me though. Some of those dance moves are so camp, they make look John Inman look butch.
