Please don't. Whales get trapped in the Thames and can't swim against the tide it is so strong down that section. You will die. Go down to Henley and swim and you'll be fine, but the central London and docks section, it really will be suicide mate.

Local drunk chap thought it a good idea to jump in to the shallow river that is about a metre deep. The force of the water dragged him along to the the weir and mill where he drowned.
