Learn, earn or quit!
Is there another philosophy in term of approaching work that deviates from this?

Personally, I'm always looking to learn - I never assume I know everything (I know, hard to believe) and I'm always learning and developing. I take this learning on to future roles (and by learning, it doesn't always have to be a new hard skill/programming language, could be a soft skill).
At your age (30 ish?) you should be learning something new every day. Never think you know it all, it's not a good trait and will come out in interviews.I am what I drink, and I'm a bitter man
