                  Yep, I assume we are talking about Johhny Mercer's sacking for speaking out regarding the government's failure to legislate over incessant harrassment of veterans.

                  The problem is the government is terrified of the Northern Ireland troubles kicking off again, and feel they need to ingratiate themselves with the IRA and similar to try and prevent that, because it would also have repercussions on UK-US relations with Biden as President. But the IRA was crushed once, by total infiltration, so what is to prevent it being defeated again?
