Totally idiotic, because it would seem as if, without AZ, they simply won't be able to get enough supply to jab everyone in the EU by the autumn. You have to assume now that AZ is toxic in the EU, and almost no one will take it. What a cluster.

I wonder if Ireland will accept any spare AZ vaccines we have?

We could also offer the Falklanders, Gibraltarians, Maltese and Catalonians some.
Always forgive your enemies; nothing annoys them so much.

Sadly they made their bed, we cautioned them against it.

Maybe the public opinion they formed will change.

Much harder to shift these opinions once they have formed. Article in the Torygraph today, can't remember the numbers precisely but something like 275 clotting events for AZ vs 225 for Pfizer, both under the rate that would be expected in the general population. Why the various governments of the EU couldn't have just run a few full page ads showing the figures involved, I don't know. Suspending the vaccine just "confirms" the suspicions of the hesitant - can't see that being reversed easily. Ireland have also suspended, so can't see them taking our shots.

Yes I know it started with misinformation from Macaroon and co then we get the blood clot accusations which have no support in science when the world just needs to get vaccinated.

All a bit sad but it does show how politicians play the public.

It's politics/leadership at its absolute worst. Not that we can preach, of course, but a fubar needs to be called a fubar.
