So nothing to do with her renouncing her citizenship and vowing to attack this country and aid those that wanted to then?

She's not stateless, she has a right to Pakistani citizenship.

This is where you are wrong.

If people from the Commonwealth arrived here while their countries were still colonies of the UK - and the UK had colonies until the early 1980s - they arrived in the UK as British citizens (or British subjects if it was before 1948) so they and the government had no paperwork to complete.

Those who were children of those British citizens depending on when they arrived were entitled to stay either because they were British citizens in their own right - so again no paperwork to complete - or because their father was a British Citizen.

The issue was the government decided to destroy the records of those who arrived before the early 1980s around 2010 as they decided that people were either dead or had gotten British passports so the records weren't needed.

Some elderly people were warned by border staff in the 90s that they needed to get a British passport and shouldn't travel on the passport of the place of their born as they risked being denied entry into the UK.

My other half and my step kids are looking at dual nationality and getting an Irish passport due to their grandmother being Irish. If there is an option to go back through family citizenship and claim dual nationality why can't she do it?

Because as far as I am aware she doesn't actually have the citizenship, and who says they will give it to her when she applies for it? Leaving someone stateless is illegal, it is really that simple.

Renouncing citizenship is a format process, not a very easy one too AND it's not actually allowed to renounce the only existing citizenship, so it's safe to say she did not actually do it.

Having a right (which may or may not be successful) is not the same as actually having citizenship.

No, but it means that Pakistan should look favourably on any such application. If you want to argue legality, then the UK would not have been able to renounce her citizenship if she did not already have a prior option. As was made clear at the time.

EDIT - Actually, for "Pakistan" above, read "Bangladesh"

The Bangladeshi government has come out and said they don't want her.

So whether she applies or not is mute as they would turn her down anyway.

They have openly said they would look favourably at turning down.
