    Darwin awards: Honourable mention?

    (Gender-reveal device explosion kills father-to-be)

Seems this chap had already passed on his DNA but killing yourself trying to tell people about your baby has to be worth a few points. What is it with these stupid gender reveal parties anyway? Someone should have a quiet word with would-be parents to let them know that while it's quite rightly a huge deal for them, few people really care what gender their baby is.

It's just a tacky excuse for the parents to have one last party before their life is ruined by children and also to get a bunch of presents.

Imagine telling your kid that they are directly responsible for their dad's death.

Fast-forward 20 years and I can guarantee there will have been at least one court-case where a child has sued their parents due to their gender-reveal video on Facebook putting undue pressure on them to be binary-gender-conformists, resulting in a negative contribution to their mental well-being.

Pioneer of gender-reveal party regrets sparking trend: 'Let kids be who they are'

There's also now gender reveal parties to 'relaunch' a trans child's gender

This is a 'trend' that simply isn't going away.

When I first heard of GR events, only a couple of years back, I actually thought they WERE about children revealing their chosen gender.

              The headline there should be

"Woman who baked pink cake now claims to be gender reveal pioneer"

I'm surprised they've not been rebranded as XY Chromosome Reveals.

                That's a *son without a father.

(*I can't see someone like that with access to explosives wanting such a big bang to reveal a daughter...)
