Nah. Urinals are more efficient. Just ban women. And as far as men being dirtier than women - I've heard stories.... Or just relabel toilets. "Dicks" and "Flowery fragrant dells".

Because statistically men are more likely to be abductors. When I take my young daughter I will make sure she has been then, urinate while she waits in the main area in my view.
i'm trying to get the geometry of this. You're pissing against a wall or what? The bogs I've been in don't have a direct view of outside from the urinals. Or are you taking into the main area of the gents and making her watch you pee? Please relieve my doubts.

I know the Old Vic came under fire last year for having 'urinals' and 'cubicles' in a bid to offer more flexible choice. It was a nice idea but the outrage was that men have 42 toilets (they can choose a urinal or a cubicle) to choose from and women only get 24 (as they can't use urinals). At the time I didn't see this as an insult to women, like many media outlets purported, but more a naive misunderstanding of basic toileting needs and a lack of consideration that they're not really offering choice to all patrons.

CCTV, much like a burglar alarm, is no deterrant to people that are dead set on causing harm.

You'll notice I used no genders in my example as I know harm can, and does, occur in all toilets - gendered or otherwise. My challenge was about CCTV curing all known ills and being a sufficient deterrent. It isn't.

Research suggests CCTV like burglar alarms and external lights tend to move or discourage the crime. If everyone had a CCTV system, burglar alarm and bright outside lights then burglary would become much rarer.

Knowing the suspects height, weight, ethnicity, approximate age and any clothing will allow you to narrow the suspect pool dramatically.

I suspect many sexual assaults where the perpetrator is consuming alcohol are unplanned.

I would have a shielded area with urinals and an area with stalls after the washbasins. I would make the urinal area closest to the door.

Indeed typical rubbish from the idiots.

As mentioned above most men urinate at urinals but will when pushed urinate in a cubicle, raising the smelly dirty seat is most definitely optional to many. Many men are not expert snipers with the family jewels so if the ladies want dry seating urinals will really help with that.

The benefit from unified facilities is if you have 4 stalls and a urinal in the mens and 8 stalls in the ladies you can have 12 stalls and a urinal in the new location. This gives the ladies greater throughput, as mentioned about 1 in 10 uses the stalls for a sit down in the men's.

Also as you have 12 stalls maybe the ladies will be able to find a sanitary bin that isn't overflowing a common issue in the ladies I am told.
