I've heard figures quoted for annual or seasonal, but never with sources quoted. So if you know the plan is to get down to a level, what is that level?
I obviously don’t but you knew that already....
I should of probably said infection rates - r value.
It’s much more contagious than flu and much deadlier - we are getting crazy deaths with “lockdown” and in warm weather - when flu isn’t a problem, now imagine flu season in a few months...
I realise that.. Not sure how that really changes what I said...
With contact tracing and restrictions of varying degrees we should be able to keep the r rate under 1 which is less than flu which runs around 1 to 2 for seasonal flu.
Remember if we are controlling Covid we are by the same course of actions impacting flu so the r value of flu would be decreased below it’s normal level as well.

Any idea what that is for the flu?
I'm just trying to find out - it's not a trick question!
If a politician has said that they want it to get down to about the same level as the flu, then it would be good to hear what value they think that is and if they put any clarification around it.

A stats man on I think the BBC last night said the total excess deaths in the last couple of months were about equal with the last bad flu season we had a few winters ago.
