Saw something earlier that coronavirus is much worse than flu as it leaves people "incapable of working". I think us contractors will be the judge of that.Comment

As I say often to the permies who take sickies .... us contractors have a very simple test if we are fit to work.Originally posted by ascender View PostSaw something earlier that coronavirus is much worse than flu as it leaves people "incapable of working". 1. Do I feel Ill? If yes, go to 2) If no go to 3)
2) Am I dead? If no, go to 3) If yes, wife follows my business continuity plan and gets final time sheet signed.
3) Continue workingI am what I drink, and I'm a bitter man

Hard to believe anyone would entrust you with such work.Originally posted by psychocandy View PostNot every client has this facility of course even for permies.
Also, what about Restricted and Secret classified stuff....
On a more serious note, do many people here have income/loss of work insurance? I'd be interested to know if that will cover self-isolating.
We've just been told that the specialist insurance on the wife's business would not cover government-mandated closure. One can imagine a lot of business owners are pretty worried right now.Originally posted by MaryPoppinsI'd still not breastfeed a naziOriginally posted by vetranUrine is quite nourishingComment

I’ve had a bit of a cold for nearly a week now, including a slightly high temperature. Been a bit short of breath the other day, and again today. If it’s not sorted itself out over the weekend, I suppose I’ll have to consider my options
Apparently, you should contact 111.nhs.uk if you’ve had symptoms for seven days. They might then advise you to self-isolate for seven days counting from when you first showed symptoms. Now, I’m no Poincaré, but I think that means you'd finish the self-isolating on the same day as you start it?
Anyway, I did the shopping yesterday so at least I have supplies to see me through if necessary

Jerome K. Jerome: “I had the symptoms, beyond all mistake, the chief among them being ‘a general disinclination to work of any kind.’
