Presume something like you see on a building site to throw rubbish down into a skip will fit through their route, just needs to be long enough for the underwater sections. Sorted.
They are 2.5 miles from the entrance, the last 2 miles of which is flooded, much of it small passages down to as little as 1m across. Anything that would with stand the water pressure would be so thick as to make it impossible to manoeuvre into place.

The teams of experienced rescuers and cave divers all thank you for their efforts and simply can't believe they didn't think of any of this.

Should be all done and dusted by tomorrow afternoon, just in time for tea and medals.

        Dear Bear Grylls,

Is there a "Trapped in a flooded cave for days, nearly had to eat the fat kid but got rescued just in time" Scouting badge?

        Yours etc,

Diagram of the cave on the Beeb:

So, according to that they're 2.5km in.

There was a cave diver lost in the caves further up the Swansea valley.

He got washed out of it in a storm 30 years later.

though seriously I don't see why we can't get them out if they got in. Worst case get them close to the submerged bit and pump the water out.
