Russia continues to rattle its sabres, and China are still playing the long game. We need the means to defend ourselves and our allies.

Well we certainly have a reason to sleep with a gun under the pillow. Bringing troops and assets home would be a smart move if we wanted to be in a better position to defend ourselves.

Dunno. However, refuelled doesn't always mean "filled it up".

Also could be that only 4 were going to make the trip and the 5th was a spare in case of refuelling problems at the first slurp.
