Hey I'm pretty clear on my beliefs about Christianity and most organised religions.Originally posted by SueEllen View PostYou mean like Christianity tried to at one point?
Remember "Those who cannot remember the past are condemned to repeat it."
Nice People (mainly) shame about the Credo.
Pretty much the same for Islam.Comment

You're funny.Originally posted by TheGreenBastard View Post1) No, certain aspects need to be adhered too however, e.g. Muhammad being the best and last prophet.

3) Conservatism in most forms implies control - however I do believe Islam can be discussed in isolation without resorting to "whataboutisms"Comment

In Christianity, there's Dominion Theology, which is exactly about Christians taking over the world.Originally posted by TheGreenBastard View PostIt comprises of a legal and social system too, unlike Christianity (mostly), which is why the ideologies are not directly comparable (unless you're a dunce).
It's disingenuous to suggest it doesn't want to "take over the world" when much of it explicitly aspires that goal.Down with racism. Long live miscegenation!Comment

Yet more whataboutism - Islam can be discussed on its own merits exclusive of Christianity. You're talking to an atheist; what response are you looking to incite? "Oh, in that case sex slaves as described in Islam are OK!" (Extreme example used to stress the argument).Originally posted by NotAllThere View PostIn Christianity, there's Dominion Theology, which is exactly about Christians taking over the world.
Also, if you want to discuss Dominion Theology - that arose in the 1970s. Sharia et al has been with Islam from Gabriel's final narration to Muhammad. If you're a Muslim you actually believe Sharia has existed in perfect form forever

That's very recent fruitcake theology.Originally posted by NotAllThere View PostIn Christianity, there's Dominion Theology, which is exactly about Christians taking over the world.
There is a fundamental historic chasm between the origins of Christianity and Islam.
Christ wrote nothing that has come down to us, if he did write anything. He didn't start a codified religion, his followers inspired by his example of love and peace did that. Later people then used it to purse political aims, but at it's beginning for 300 years it was a peaceful non-political religion that especially looked after the poor and imprisoned.
Mohammed wrote the Koran and used it to unite the Arab tribes which he then led in conquest and slaughter of the middle east and north Africa. Pope Benedict was right a few years ago when he alluded to Islam been of the sword. But I discovered nothing else but depraved, excessive superstition. Pliny the youngerComment

Yes, please enlighten me, what are the five pillars of Islam? Can you also enlighten me as to whether you believe there to be 5 or 7.Originally posted by TheGreenBastard View PostWe can continue a debate on the objective peacefulness of Islam if you wish to be enlightened.
Apart from a small group of Muslims, why is it that the most dogmatic of Muslim haters insist on preaching that there are 7?…Maybe we ain’t that young anymoreComment

Just to pause your idiotic narrative for a moment it's "Islam haters".Originally posted by WTFH View PostYes, please enlighten me, what are the five pillars of Islam? Can you also enlighten me as to whether you believe there to be 5 or 7.

I have friends and peers that describe themselves as Muslim, I don't hate them.
The number of pillars depends on the sect.
Still waiting on evidence of hate filled bile AKA "you don't agree with my fragile world view".Comment
