The Police have just handed it to them, if they had footage of it they could prove there was a gun and the Policeman was in danger. Just one Frame with him holding a gun would have done it would have all have been over. They could have taken his finances apart and convicted anyone involved.

I have been reading since the BBC doc was aired, in my opinion (worth nothing obvs) on the balance of probabilities he wasn't armed when shot, and may or may not have had a gun cast away previously to his shooting, which was 'found' but contained none of Duggan's DNA or fingerprints.

No saying he was wholly innocent and probably did have the gun prior to his killing but that's no excuse for shooting an unarmed man.

But he can go from unarmed to armed in a couple of seconds. It's easy for us to make judgement after the situation from our nice safe homes.

What was that lady policewoman that got shot. Sharon Brevnesky. She got involved with some she though was unarmed man and look what happened to her. IMO if you mess with guns you are going to have to expect the worst.

True I'm not defending anyone but I've had enough dealings with the police to know they aren't angels, and they do cover up for each other.

Put the camera on the gun and only record 1 minute before & after a shot.

Encrypt the data. IPCC has one key, Force has the other. Can only play in specific machine.

Use opencv & obscure faces etc. You can show Time, GPS position & firearm serial number + blurred faces. Enough to see the overall picture. Google could probably knock it up in an afternoon.

As you say though intelligence suggests he was a drug dealer and frequently armed. Similar to Duggan. Problem is that the uncertainty will almost certainly create suspicion and unrest.

Ok, so please get some stats; how many arrests involving armed police have resulted in deaths in the last ten years?
Think about it.

Even this one is 20% 5 arrests 1 death. Unless 20% is deemed to be high. It wasn't an assassination, and if the officer erred on the side of caution in favour of his own and colleagues lives then so be it if you are an armed drug dealer.
