Nope immigrants don't have to speak fluent English. However they do need to write it.Originally posted by Bee View PostIn my case it's different of course. Hypocrite.
We don't have ghettos in Portugal because we demolished all 30 years ago. If we have guns shots in any neighborhood, which is rare, are sent 10 police vans.
In UK the immigrants must be able to speak fluent English otherwise they will be pulled back in the first grammar error like some of you are doing here with me.
Try to be more friendly instead of having a repulse behavior towards to the immigrants and help them in the integration probably your country would have better results.
Oh if immigrants aren't pig-headed and admit they aren't fluent they get help like I've have in Spain and with French speaking Belgians."You’re just a bad memory who doesn’t know when to go away" JRComment

Must be dead rare for someone to be able to write, but not speak any given language - fluently or otherwise.Originally posted by SueEllen View PostNope immigrants don't have to speak fluent English. However they do need to write it.Comment

Not really. I can write very good German - because I can take the time to ensure it's correct. When speaking, you have to do it on the fly.Originally posted by The_Equalizer View PostMust be dead rare for someone to be able to write, but not speak any given language - fluently or otherwise.Down with racism.
