    Stop being a t*****.

It is well known UK police forces try and send police women into such incidents because they tend to be better at calming things down.

Come on Vetran, don't feel the twats (trolls, whatever you want to call them).

Let's go and have a nicer time in another thread.
Practically perfect in every way....there's a time and (more importantly) a place for malarkey.

Because of the higher than average crime coming from black youths, then by default it appears the police are more likely to take less chances and just open fire because they're so jumpy.

It all comes back to their gun laws though. Too many guns, too easy to access.
My story was from 8 years ago.

If they prosecute in every case then great. I'm glad the police are now wearing cameras so we can see the truth. I would expect every arrest in UK or US to be recorded & the same with stop & search. They should be randomly reviewed by the relevant local dignitaries (Mayor / race specific residents association) so they can see for themselves what is happening.

Oh, I see Switzerland is quite comparable to the US for some

As I say my Niece has similar stories. Its a nasty job and they do it.

What were you expecting her to do? She was unarmed, stab vests weren't issued then.
              .
Hold fire there for the moment. So are/were those police officers who shot the men dead. It only takes a moment of misjudgment to end a life.

Ok, so what makes you bring this sexist angle into the discussion? Who has ever spoken about sending out women officers to a scene of crime?

Just another wildcard to distort the discussion?

The only angle I'm bringing into it is that it is more likely a female police officer would be held up in a domestic as the police are known to prefer to send female officers to certain crimes including domestics. In other words Vetran's story is totally believable.

Luckily for people in the UK the majority of police officers in UK forces don't want to patrol with guns or have them on them, simply because they don't want to end up with the same situation as in the US.

Sorry, you may be a mod (and you haven't replied to my PM about why the feck I got a yellow card / warning / infraction / whatever, for "inappropriate language" - it all sounds like bollocks to me) but you're talking out of your arse. Yes, people kill people, but it's a lot fecking easier with a gun. Assuming there are about a quarter of a million guns in circulation in the US (probably wildly under-estimated) how do you stop a loony getting hold of one (or several)? You can't. Anyone who thinks otherwise it totally deluded.

Yes they do prefer female officers for domestics, I suspect these are probably some of the most dangerous situations most officers get into. Close quarters and multiple assailants, you arrest the abusive one and their battered partner starts hitting you. There are knives in the kitchen and kids everywhere.

totally agree. I was disappointed when police in Airports were armed.

I have wondered for years why when firearms officers are deployed the deployment isn't videoed. Black their faces out for public consumption (judge gets to watch raw clip and rule on its veracity). But all these suggestions they planted guns would go away, experts could anlayse the encounter and suggest improvements or culpability.
