Sorry, you may be a mod (and you haven't replied to my PM about why the feck I got a yellow card / warning / infraction / whatever, for "inappropriate language" - it all sounds like bollocks to me) but you're talking out of your arse. Yes, people kill people, but it's a lot fecking easier with a gun. Assuming there are about a quarter of a million guns in circulation in the US (probably wildly under-estimated) how do you stop a loony getting hold of one (or several)? You can't. Anyone who thinks otherwise it totally deluded.

Did you know you are 5 times more likely to get hit by lightening in the US than get killed in a mass shooting.

While the gun stats are not great a lot of it is blown out of proportion by reading too much from the internet.

In America you are more likely to be killed by a child under 12 with a gun than you are by a terrorist.

I claim FALSE on your figures, based on fact.

In 2015 there were 27 deaths in the US due to lightning. 475 people were killed in mass shootings.
So, you were over 17 times MORE likely to die in a mass shooting than you were by lightning in 2015.
Only about 10% of people struck by lightning actually die
So, 27x10 = 270. That's NOT 5x475. You are still more likely to be killed in a mass shooting than struck by lightning. Not 5 times the other way round. Your claim is FALSE.

2016 so far 9 lightning deaths, 256 killed in mass shootings, that's 28 times more likely to die in a mass shooting so far in 2016 than by lightning.
So, 9x10 = 90. That's NOT 5x256. You are still more likely to be killed in a mass shooting than struck by lightning. Not 5 times the other way round. Your claim is FALSE.

Yeah I actually just google it rather than trying to remember stuff - apparently 300 million

so .3 billion I guess!

Unfortunately people change. They can be perfectly normal then a life event changes them e.g. Divorce, Mental Illness, finding God, bereavement etc.

So you give a normal person a gun then they become abnormal and go postal.

Or normal people get stupid and manage to leave it out for the baby to play with.

Someone has a brain fart and thinks 'I wonder what it would feel like hosing people down with a sub machine gun' if they can buy one in Wallmart its a bit too easy.

Easy way is to give as few people a gun as possible then you lower the risk of accidents and nutters being armed with assault rifles.

Look at gun ownership by race in the US.
Look at gun homicides by race in the US.

It should be clear that guns are not the cause of that 9,000-ish figure being so high.
