In the 2013 Bloomberg speech he said he would work for reform of the EU in his deal, in the end he got..

1/A promise things wont get worse.

2/Permision to ask for an Emergency Brake
Caveat a/only for in work benefits, which many dont claim. Nothing on out of work benefits.
Caveat b/ emergency defined as almost bust.
How long it is for is irrelevant it will never be invoked.

3/He asked for migrant Child benefit payments abroad to be stopped, instead they agreed to link them to the cost of living in that country ( have to wonder if this will mean some payments will increase)

No repatriation of laws, no reduced outpayments, no veto, nothing on border control. He didn't ask as he knew they would laugh him out of the room.

In short he asked for nothing and got it.

If the person is in a Nordic country yes child benefit will increase but if they are in Central Europe they will decrease.

What laws do you want repatriated? Equality laws were enshrined in UK laws before Europe thought of them, consumer law were enshrined in UK laws before Europe thought of them, health and safety laws were enshrined in UK laws before Europe thought of them....

All the EU did was take laws from the countries who had them and make sure best practice was put in the directive.

In regards to European Court of Human Rights it has nothing to do with the EU.

Oh and we control our own borders as we are not in Schrengen. If we want more control then we need to get people to register at a police station every 3 months and make benefits depend on long term residency.

That's outside EU migration. While we are signed up to the concept of free movement we are not in control. We have to take as many as want to come from poor eastern european sh1t holes e.g. Romania whether we have a need for their 'skills' or not. When we signed up the EU was fairly homgenous when it came to social makeup of the member countires, that is no longer the case we do not need low skilled migration to this country or worse still scrounging begging and crime.

                  You missed my last point.

Other countries have tricks for controlling the number of EU migrants.

                  This includes:
                  1. Forcing people to sign up every few months at the local police to be counted. Failure to do so is an offence. Penalties vary.

                  2. Ensuring you have no recourse to public funds unless you are a long term resident. So if Cameron etc stated you need to be resident in the UK for at least 5 years in the last 10 to be able to claim benefits then no recent EU migrants would be legible. Neither would British people who decide they wanted to live in Spain.

In regards to the skills of Romanians be careful not to confuse Romanians with Roma, who live all over Europe.

Yup, in Spain, to register you have to go to the town hall and then the local police need to come and visit you in your home to verify you are living there for the empadronamiento. Try that if you are an immigrant hopping from place to place in search of work.

And here is Simon Manley UK ambassador to Spain rallying for support on the Costa Del Sol. Easy votes.
