FTFY. We cannot close our borders (whatever you think that means) without leaving the EU. Spending money on this in the interim would be meaningless.Originally posted by MaryPoppinsI'd still not breastfeed a naziOriginally posted by vetranUrine is quite nourishing -

Not really. By their logic, us bombing them reinforces their narrative that there is a war between Islam and the West. That narrative it what they use to drive recruitment in Western countries.Originally posted by EternalOptimist View PostIf I were an ISIS jihadi in Syria, I would not want to be bombed.
so that makes it a good idea
They wont care about minor casualties in Syria if it gets them more recruits to replace them and to act in Europe."Being nice costs nothing and sometimes gets you extra bacon" - Pondlife.Comment

Quite easily done, well it would have been if identity cards had been issued like in other European countriesOriginally posted by DimPrawn View PostI'd rather we spend the time and money closing our borders and checking the identity of everyone in the UK who wasn't born here, remove the hidden terrorists, stop any arriving.

For. But I also feel we need boots on the ground. Too impersonal dropping bombs on them, the boys should see the whites of their eyes when they run them through with their bayonets. ^This. What would they not want to happen? Getting blown up, having to hide from view and finding their public executions turning into a rain of high explosives. Yes, it fits their narrative about crusaders and imperialism, but so does having an embassy and trade with muslim lands. That's what propaganda is for. So there isn't a real alternative.Originally posted by EternalOptimist View PostIf I were an ISIS jihadi in Syria, I would not want to be bombed.

And, without wanting to prompt cretins wailing about Dresden, here's a rather more articulate view on the matter.
