You should be using local, protectionist variables. Global variables allows them to come over here and benefit from our resources.

so I initialise all my variables to 0 , or '0'

I am beavering away on a new module, whilst checking in at CUK every half hour to browse the latest hot topics. Then I started wondering if my very coding is racialistical.

let me explain.

I use a lot of global variables on this gig and I need to know if I am in add or edit mode

so I use gAdd , which is a Boolean

after gAdd ing all morning I started to wonder if It's subconscious.

Have to do the occasional SQL update to a database. One of the fields is USER. The prefix in one of the main tables is AB.


Update proddta.****** set abuser = 'MyAgent' where...etc


(always makes me chuckle)
