Female equal rights

Right to education

Etc.

The BBC were talking about disenfranchised youth of Brussels, maybe with a criminal record, feeling all hope of a better life gone, then getting radicalised, and turned against the things they once listed for.

I do find these events somewhat mawkish & they are very much a recent phenomenon.

These never used to occur in the 70s/80s. Not even on armistice day. The only time you'd observe one would be if you were attending a remembrance service.
