Every year the OED gets some free publicity by adding a few "words" to their list and (presumably) issuing a press release. They never mention the ones they take out, for some reason, even on their website. Do they see removals as a failure? How many of these removals include that word that was trendy in the playground last September but never heard of after last Christmas?

Pocket dial - to accidentally call someone while your phone is in a pocket.
I can't wait for 2010 to come around so this problem goes away.
Come on, when was the last time someone did this?Comment

Come on, when was the last time someone did this?Socialism is inseparably interwoven with totalitarianism and the abject worship of the state.
No Socialist Government conducting the entire life and industry of the country could afford to allow free, sharp, or violently-worded expressions of public discontent.Comment

Wife does it all the time when she throws her phone into her handbag after making a call - she doesn't lock it, just waits for it to time out. So, into the handbag, and if the screen gets hit a couple of times in a few seconds then the call is made.…Maybe we ain’t that young anymoreComment
