It's quite a shame that UKIP can't actually take outright power
What makes you think that's thanks to the tories, rather than the fact that we've just exited a massive recession?
Or did you just make it up?
The Tories as ever have rescued the economy. You may not like it but they have set the environment for the recovery making cuts and managing the deficit with the aim of getting people into work and growing the economy. They did the same last time labour got into power.
Yes it may be that they have been helped by economic cycles but that is the way it is. Labour on the other hand took over a healthy economy and squandered everything, failing to allow for a downturn they also mis managed the banks, the economy and went on a borrowing spree.
why anyone would ever vote for them again defies belief.

I dread to think how bad it could have been if they had followed the advice of Osborne and Cameron who were saying how the banks were too regulated and needed much less regulation.

All they have done is continue immigration, introduce help to buy and bring in QE max. Most of the QE money has ended up offshore.
The structural problems of the UK economy are still the same. And the UK is way too indebted for people, corporates and government.
Labour would not have done any different though...
The tories always had an anti Europe wing and when UKIP was born I thought 'hey ho, the tories will never get in again'
Then Blair offered the devolution vote and I thought 'hey ho, labour will never get in again'
Both big parties have shot themselves in the foot imo, but the tories have a way out. I don't see a way out for labour

Oh I don't know, some people woul think a 6% unemployment rate and falling, the highest growth rate in Europe, a start made on improving the education system, to be a fair achievement by the Tories, hobbled as they have been by Clegg and his useless acolytes.
Did someone shove a Daily Mail up your arse and it's been absorbed into your system?
I think the Tories are the best option overall but that's far too generous a review. The only way they made "a start made on improving the education system" is by kicking Gove out, after he made a total mess of the entire thing

You can make whatever argument you like about what someone "would" have done. The fact is that the last two labour governments have presided over the ruining of the economy. The fact that they refuse to acknowledge this means that all the evidence points to them borrowing and spending and taxing as much as they can.

He did not make a mess of the education system. He was trying to give the power of control to the consumers of the system and remove it from the providers.
