That's where I am with Apple, the whole is greater than the some of its parts, there might be a better tablet, phone, watch and laptop, but can they all work togther flawlessly

I know someone who gold plates iphones, costs him less than a quid a time to do it

If you don't like their look, why not get a normal iphone and gold plate it yourself

Same reason I don't drive a white range rover Evoque, they look naff

Gold ones are really aimed at the Chinese / Far East market. Gold is a huge status symbol over there and they go for a premium as they are sold as Accessories / Jewellery as well as being phones.
