Followers of any religion can be on the scale of moderate to nutters.

The problem is that sharia law is universal and contains punishments such as crucifixion, stoning, and flogging and detest of "infidels"(non believers).

Well said. Why would such retaliation be needed anyway? If there really is an Allah, he will punish us unbelievers and blasphemers in due time anyway. What is a human lifetime to an eternal god?

Isn't it more like someone bad-talking your girl/wife/kid? They might not be bothered or even know about it, but if someone badmouths one you love this aggrieves you. Heck, you even get it when someone makes fun of another's favourite sport team. Online, massive rows break out because someone criticises someone else's brand of mobile phone.

People are often [over]protective of what they love and happy to deliver a slap to anyone speaking against that thing.

So you're saying that god does exist? Really? There is no proof today, and there has never been any proof in all of history, that god exists.

You said there is definitely, definitively, no God. Now you're merely saying there is no proof for the existence of God. The two are entirely different, the second is back-tracking substantially as it only says "there is no reason to believe in God" rather than "there is no God".

Perhaps you would care to track back how science has proved many religious philosophies wrong and will continue to do so.
