The edges were gummed and it was postage-paid, so when you signed off you could fill it in and pop it in the post to end your claim. But after a few months of signing on the serrations on the edges started to give way, and the gummed bits fell off. Eventually somebody would notice when you signed on and give you a new one. And so the cycle would repeat
    Ah, got it.

      Your point?

      EDIT. F**k
There is a hardcore of unemployed that don't want to work or haven't managed to get back into work for 6-12 months these need to be encouraged back into work.

Do you think its fair that a couple on basic wage should receive less than someone on out of work benefits? Or should those who haven't worked for years or should they move out of expensive property most people couldn't afford?

These are the ones IDS is going after.

typical unemployed person? Could probably find some examples without trying too hard.

Unskilled, left school at 16. From then on they probably follow a path of babies / prison (gender bias) with frequent periods of seasonal work..

One thing worth mentioning is that there are sod all examples of multi generational unemployment.

But the killer bit that needs to be solved is probably not unemployment but working tax credits. Not sure how you solve it in a rent economy (remember everything in the UK is expensive because land costs are expensive) when there is no way wages / prices can fall because housing costs are so great.

He's also going after people on sickness benefit particularly if they have mental illnesses (and I don't mean depression) or learning disabilities i.e. have a mental age of a child.

Build more bloody houses and prevent non-EU citizens buying them.

My mate got sanctioned and no money for a month cos they didn't like his email address which was completely acceptible, just an excuse and nothing more. Three days food provided by a foodbank.

I suspect the long term unemployed are being targeted just for the sake of it and the 'undeserving' are a minority. Just my experience.

Do you read the Daily Wail by any chance?

Read the Daily Mail then you know who they are. (I would say watch Jeremy Kyle but you don't have a telly.)

Personally I think all those people are the single family that terrorises others on their estate/street

Encouraged back to work? Where are the jobs? Where to find a job not on a zero hours contract or pays a living wage?

Get yer head out of yer arse and stop buying to the tulipe they sell you.

And a great album it was too...

King, where are your people now?

                      Chained and pacified.

Tried in vain to show them how.
The follow up, Present Arms was great too. Went downhill when they started doing all those Jimmy Cliff covers etc.
