Just been listening to Vangelis on Spotify and Rutger Hauer's final speech from Blade Runner was played just after the theme - it's only short but I think it's one of the most memorable scenes from any film ever "I have… seen things you people wouldn't believe… Attack ships on fire off the shoulder of Orion. I watched c-beams glitter in the dark near the Tannhäuser Gate. All those… moments… will be lost in time, like tears… in... rain. Time… to die…"

I had always assumed he was based on Prof Edmund Teller, but according to a biography of Hugh Everett I recently read, The Many Worlds of Hugh Everett, he was actually mostly based on a nutter called Herman Kahn.
