Tulip happens, sometimes. If you live every moment fearing the worst that could possibly happen, you'd never get much done and would be pretty miserable.

What would be worse... 1 million kids growing up scared of the world and unable to function without mummy, or 999,999 growing up confident and enjoying life, and one dying in a kayak accident that could have easily been prevented by not going kayaking?

I called you a bigot which is pretty insulting but it is an apt word for describing your holier than thou criticism of the Mcanns. If it offends you then that is nothing to the cruelty that is being dished out to the Mcanns by people who see this as an opportunity to outpour all their sanctimonious bile at their expense. I have at times left my children in bed alone at night for 10 hours whilst they slept! I have even done so for 20 minutes (perhaps longer) when they were a bit older than the Mcann children on a club Mark Warner holiday. At least one has been old enough to run down and find us.

So I would not have neglected my children in the way the Mcanns did. But I am in no way going to judge them or even imply as you cruel lot seem to wish to do that they somehow asked for their child to be kidnapped.
