Not to split hairs but the UK is part of the EU, so if Scotland leaves the UK doesn't it also leave the EU?

I think I've found a short explanation of the entire debate

English people: "But don't you understand how bad independence will be for you?" Scottish people: "Irn Bru"

Jeez. Even the EU has stated that unless article 48 has unanimity then Scotland, by virtue of choosing to separate from a member state, would have to leave and re enter.

It will require 28 signatures for a clause 48. Spain has said no to that, as will others.
Clause 49 requires 28 signatures which the French, italians, Germans etc.. have said would be forthcoming but with no rebate and after a discussion on adopting the EU.

Q1: Is Scotland part of the EU now?
          A1: Yes

Q2: Is Scotland voting to leave the EU or UK?
          Q2: UK

Conclusion: Scotland is is still in the EU after a Yes vote.

Unless the rules are changed using Article 48, then yes we leave.
We then re-enter using Article 49.

Whatever happens we lose the rebate.

Can you post a link to show the rule or law or mechanisms that the EU has for removing a country from the EU in the circumstances Scotland will be in in a Yes vote?

Scotland is part of the UK. The UK is part of the EU. If Scotland stops being part of the UK... can you complete the sentence?

Scotland is NOT part of the EU the UK is. Does Alex Slamond attend the EU heads of government meetings? By your logic Scotland has a UN veto, which an Independent Scotland would also have. Eh I think not
