Yeah I agree, I see the Eurozone as one big country in general even though it is indeed made up of lots of different countries integration is the main aim. Why leave one union to join another that presently you're already part of? But hey if it makes them happyLast edited by The Spartan; 17 September 2014, 08:10.In Scooter we trust

...of course they don't have a problem. Neither do the French, Italians, Germans etc. (who will all refuse Scotland a rebate).Originally posted by Unix View PostSpain have said the Scottish ref is a democratic legal process so will have no problem with Scotland.
Spain is simply stating that automatic entry will not happen and that Scotland needs to apply as a new state. They won't oppose it, but the 'Yes' campaign view that we'll get automatic entry is just nonsense.Comment

Yes should have offered nothing less than a full timetable with everything agreed on, currency, European entry, debt with a first years budget.
Quite how we have got to this point with not much more than a back of a fag packet plan is shambolic.Comment

There is no mechanism to remove Scotland from the EU in the event of a Yes vote, so the Spanish etc can say whatever they want. It will be a few signatures and done.Originally posted by jemb View Post...of course they don't have a problem. Neither do the French, Italians, Germans etc. (who will all refuse Scotland a rebate).

At least Cameron wants to do the negotiating before having an EU referendum so that everyone knows what they are voting for.Comment

They didn't have time to get it together. HMG offered to open discussions with the EU to clarify the position and the SNP refused. Clarity around a CU has been given by the UK and the SNP have ignored it.Originally posted by minestrone View PostYes should have offered nothing less than a full timetable with everything agreed on, currency, European entry, debt with a first years budget.

In fairness they need to drive home the Yes message of hope - the details and potential disaster hasn't got a luck in because it would kill the campaign dead.
It'll be a No.Comment
