That's a great forecast. Is it like the one your previous chancellor made about balancing the budget deficit in 2014/15 ?
Or the one with "No more boom and bust". How did that work out? Surely not the same Broon Tabard that is lecturing us on our pensions after stealing them?
What was the state of employment in the UK like in the 20s & 30s? Or the USA ? Why was that period in time called the great depression?
Oh FFS the point is that comparing the use of the punt and the Yes vote aspirations for a CU is just stupid.
There will be no CU. It makes no economic or political sense for the RUK.
We can use the pound or the Euro or the wee-Eck but if you really think that after a Yes vote the RUK is going to go 'oh fine' we were only kidding. Then you really are deluded.
Vote Yes - but do it with an understanding that there will be no CU. Don't kid yourself it's going to be painless. It isn't.
I hope the jocks vote no, because i believe in strength in an uncertain and dangerous world.
If they dont vote No, I hope to h*ll they vote yes. because that way we get rid of 50 odd socialist MP's, the greens and a bunch of self confessed freeloaders.
any other result would be inconceivable imho

I'm not expecting it to be painless.
I think TM said it best when he explained that a CU is in the best interests of both sides. If rUK says no then fine but they will be punishing themselves too.

Think I've already said it's not going to be painless.
Your assertion that it makes no economic sense is just plain bollocks.
Butting a barrier up to your second biggest export market, and a pretty big import market is a good enough reason, forget the balance of payments issues that the rUK will have. That would be political suicide for the rUK prime minister or chancellor.
When freedom comes along, don't PISH in the water supply.....

Fairly sure you'll get your wish EO. It'll be either 'yes' or 'no'

Anyone would think that England has an economy one tenth the size of Scotlands
Let us not forget EU open doors immigration benefits IT contractors more than anyone

Whatever happens will be painful, but the CU is not in the RUK interest and so will not happen. TM repeats the Yes reason for a CU, but ignores the economic arguments and the political arguments.
No-CU will allow the RUK to manage their own economy. We'll have to manage our own independent economy. We can still use Sterling, the Euro or the Twat, but we will not have a CU.
