As a life-long Labour voter I can identify with his disillusionment, particularly when you look at the current leadership of the Scottish Labour Party. I always thought of the SNP as the Tartan Tories but they have proved to be a competent and credible centre-left government in Scotland. It'll be interesting to see what happens to the SNP in the event of a Yes vote, after all the whole reason for their existence will have disappeared. It may be that they will split left and right but I certainly believe the landscape of Scottish politics has changed forever.

Labour do not create wealth they spend it. This would be fine but they never spend it wisely. They do not lift people out of poverty they simply level the playing field by putting more people into poverty whilst enriching themselves. If you are a contractor who votes for labour then you are most probably a rich individual who believes that he is helping lesser off people than yourself. As a person then who does not practice any socialism why do you want to impose it on everyone else?

Quite how Scotland intends to grow its economy without Tory style policies (low tax) I don't know.

It is probably not, price of extraction is now 5 times greater than it was in the 90s at its peak. US is now going to start exporting oil so the price is expected to drop. I think the peak of oil was 1999 when we got 2.6 million barrels out a year, we now get 0.8 million.

Even at the SNP's exaggerated 24 million barrels left it is not that much.

Despite all the technological advances of the last 100 years it's astonishing we don't see the difference between those on zero-hour contracts and those standing outside the yard gate waiting for a job 100 years ago.

As a union we've grown very little. You show me this real growth we've achieved that gives us such a station we should shout from the rooftops about. The growth you'd brag about is a facially funded on a mountain of debt.
