Apparently someone left one of the new unreleased Windows phones in bar last week. It's still there if anyone wants it...Comment

As people are already developing stuff using HealthKit under the Beta program using current iOS hardware, I doubt it's 6 onlyOriginally posted by Bunk View PostThat might just be part of iOS 8. Need to wait and see if it's iPhone 6 only.

Meanwhile, in the 21st century, the primary functions of a phone (which are making calls and sending texts, those being the functions that use the telephone network) are merely secondary functions of the handheld computers so many now have in their pocketsOriginally posted by NorthWestPerm2Contr View PostPrimary functions of a PHONE:
- Make calls

- Send whatsapp messages
- Send emails
I don't think I've ever regarded my iOS device as a phone. The phone bit is just one app, and an app I don't use very much either.Comment

Agreed - I do have an iPhone but it's just there for the apps... Can't do the phone stuff at all because of the bloody touchscreen. It is just permanently tethered to my real phone aka Blackberry.Originally posted by NickFitz View PostMeanwhile, in the 21st century, the primary functions of a phone (which are making calls and sending texts, those being the functions that use the telephone network) are merely secondary functions of the handheld computers so many now have in their pockets

Actually no - they do actually make me sick. If I am in a car (not driving of course), on a train or any other moving vehicle then using a touchscreen does make me physically sick. Whereas my real phone allows me to touch type without using my eyes to go backwards and forwards constantly thus making me puke.Originally posted by Bunk View Post
A bit melodramatic?Comment

Presumably by "real phone" you mean one with a moronic tiny QWERTY keyboards? A real phone would be one with a number pad a couple of extra buttons. Buy an old Nokia if you want a phone.Originally posted by NorthWestPerm2Contr View PostAgreed - I do have an iPhone but it's just there for the apps... Oh and texting is just email for idiots. Will work inside IR35. Or for food.Comment

Receiving texts is free, even abroad. Receiving emails uses your data plan or requires WiFi access. A small, but important difference.Originally posted by VectraMan View Post...

Can you read or are you unable to process the concept of brackets?Originally posted by Stevie Wonder BoyIn my car my mobile integrates with the car. So I can make calls by pressing the voice button, and saying "Call Home".
It is illegal to use a handheld phone in car, it may make you feel sick, but whilst you are buggering around with the phone it could make you dead.Comment
