PC crap. Warning people of factors that might put them at risk is is not the same as blaming them. Is telling people they should stay alert and avoid using expensive phones in areas prone to street crime blaming the victim?

Are you being deliberately obtuse?Originally posted by vetran View Postgood so we improve safety in town to help prevent the 8% of stranger 1 rapes.
You would improve town safety to stop anti-social behaviour, drug deals, muggings and sexual assault plus rape."You’re just a bad memory who doesn’t know when to go away" JRComment

The CPS and police have changed their attitudes.Originally posted by vetran View Postso change the rules & the offence so that we have more chance of a safe conviction.
It's just a case of society i.e. the people who can be put on a jury, not changing their attitudes. After all if some are like you and don't know that non-consensual penetrative sex is rape regardless of situation then off course their will be less convictions."You’re just a bad memory who doesn’t know when to go away" JRComment

no I was just suggesting it was a good positive suggestion for dealing with 8% of rapes.Originally posted by SueEllen View PostAre you being deliberately obtuse?

Maybe we are having difficulty communicating? Or your emotions are clouding your judgement?Comment

8% of rapes in that area or nationally? If it's that area do they all happen in that location?Originally posted by vetran View Postno I was just suggesting it was a good positive suggestion for dealing with 8% of rapes.

If not it would be taking a sledgehammer to crack a nut."You’re just a bad memory who doesn’t know when to go away" JRComment

But this message isn't targeted in any way at all.Originally posted by xoggoth View PostPC crap. Warning people of factors that might put them at risk is is not the same as blaming them. It's "if you drink, you could get raped." Drinking is, and should be, as much a normal, social activity for women as it is for men.
My (tongue in cheek) suggestion of a poster with a picture of a man with "Think rapist!" is probably equally well targeted - after all the biggest factor that puts women at risk of rape is men.Comment

I do actual get quite frustrated with the All Men are Rapists label.Comment

Then lets have more targeted posters and initiatives, there seems to be no research and essentially little or no positive movement apart from Sue Ellen's hanging juries.Originally posted by mudskipper View PostBut this message isn't targeted in any way at all.

Might as well combine the Think Rapist with Think Paedophile and kill two birds with one stone. If you make the model middle aged and white you can add think Racist for bonus points.Comment

For the "Think Paedophile" poster the person would have to be a White male well-known public figure so you are OK there....Originally posted by vetran View PostThen lets have more targeted posters and initiatives, there seems to be no research and essentially little or no positive movement apart from Sue Ellen's hanging juries.
