Data privacy is the main thing these days(name/address combo), ignoring your old fashioned sexist bimbo comment, you think she is sending postal responses?Originally posted by petergriffin View PostYour Cv is going to be scrutinized by some bimbo half your age and 1/10 of your working experience. Why make their life difficult by not writing your postal address?
What have you got to worry about? I can understand age, marital status, religious confession, gender, sexual orientation (I've seen this on Dutch/Belgian application forms) because this data could lend to discrimination, but a postal address?
I've used postal redirection services in the past. There are some nice Regent Street W1B addresses out there for less than £10 a month and chances are the agency uses the same service.
If someone has applied for the job, they know where the company is located and are happy with that location.
Who are you to discount them because of their lack of address?Comment

I am not sure if I should take you seriously. Data privacy is irrelevant if your ltd is in company check. Unless you're a cowboy builder and have something to hide...Originally posted by jmo21 View PostData privacy is the main thing these days(name/address combo)
Bimbo is not a sexist term and is not referred to a woman. I have been called bimbo many times despite being in advanced stage of decomposition.Originally posted by jmo21 View Postignoring your old fashioned sexist bimbo comment, you think she is sending postal responses?
In my case it has got nothing to do with how far you live from the client, it's more to do with good manners, something which is in short supply on this board more often than not.Originally posted by jmo21 View PostIf someone has applied for the job, they know where the company is located and are happy with that location.

Ah..... so you threw out cv's because it is not good manners, well done.Originally posted by petergriffin View PostI am not sure if I should take you seriously. Data privacy is irrelevant if your ltd is in company check. Unless you're a cowboy builder and have something to hide...

And yes, company check, true for ltd people, but not for permies.Comment

+1 Manners is a 2 way street, I prefer to judge people on a more substantial basis than the simpleton approach of 'no address on their CV = straight in the bin', i.e. A radical idea being does it look like they have the skills to do the job?, says more about you than the applicant if you don't.Originally posted by jmo21 View PostAh..... so you threw out cv's because it is not good manners, well done.

Exactly what use is your address to a pimp that doesn't send letters and is just after getting the best contractor in front of his client?'CUK forum personality of 2011 - Winner - Yes really!!!!

If you miss it off, the only impact that I can see is that you won't have the opportunity to work with petergriffin.Originally posted by vwdan View Post1) Should I include my address?
Whether that is a downside or not I'll leave up to you

Enough of dissing Petergrffin please.
His posts should stand alone in all their glory.
(And we should all be grateful for the way he sifts his CVs...)"I can put any old tat in my sig, put quotes around it and attribute to someone of whom I've heard, to make it sound true."

header and Footer
I put my name and Tittle in the Header and my contact details in the footer. If the job description requires a local candidate only you could just change the footer to a local address. How I get to work is my problem.Comment

Well, okay - that was all a little bit more controversial than I anticipated. I quite like the idea of chucking it in small print in the footer - easy enough for an agent to strip should they wish, but it's there for anyone curious and doesn't impact on content space.
NLUK - I take your point on "How does it help", but they are human when all said and done. To me, lack of information breeds conjecture, but I could be very wrong.Comment
