I'm confused. Why is the company sponsoring you not going to hire you?

Im a contractor within the financial services industry and I just finished my third contract/project. I go through agencies and umbrella companies
      Not anymore you're not.

I found the information you need in about a minute and a half. I would be putting a lot more effort in that this post if I was facing being removed from a country.

I would be highly suspicious of anyone willing to sponor you while you don't have a gig. Could you tell us who it is?

What type of role did you carry out in your last gig?

I have heard of companies that just do the sponsoring but I suppose they take a %age or other fee. I think it is dodgy but probably borderline legal. Possibly it is one of those issues that HM Gov don't want to push back to hard for fear of being called racist!

I think you are wrong. I believe HM Gov would be very interested to hear in companies abusing visas like this. They might be slow but I don't think they are not interested. This is visa abuse plain and simple. They have taken action against colleges/universities offering sham courses so I am sure they would take action on this type of thing if there is enough noise.

I have a feeling we won't be hearing from this poster again....

Your comments are encouraging. I hope you are right about HMG on this.

Yes I heard of agencies/companies who charge overseas candidates a lot of money for promising to sponsor them/ or find them a sponsor, and such money is non refundable if the company/agency is unable to find them work/sponsorship etc

Am afraid these companies have clear T&C so don't think they are doing anything illegal in their contracts, but I feel sorry for the majority who sign up in the hope they'd be one of the lucky ones, and never see their money again.

I'm not sure if it is worthwhile in the long term... The best option is to get a perm role and ask the company to provide Tier 2 sponsorship for you. If you have specialist skills that they need you for, they will sponsor you

Wander if Tier 1 will be brought back??

                    Hmmm.... It depends...
Well, I'd rather have skilled tax-paying Tier 1ers coming back...

And less of those coming over, to use up and rip off the system here....
