Sure we'll help you out in any way we can. We just love other people coming over on those visas and under-cutting us all with stupidly low rates.Contracting: more of the money, less of the sh1t -
Depends on nothing. Wouldn't having neither be a better option?Originally posted by LKK View PostHmmm.... It depends...
Well, I'd rather have skilled tax-paying Tier 1ers coming back...
And less of those coming over, to use up and rip off the system here....'CUK forum personality of 2011 - Winner - Yes really!!!!

There are some umbrella's which market themselves towards Tier 2'ers. Basically they operate just like a normal umbrella, except they will pay for a fast track visa (usually in the region of £2-3000 in costs for them). They recoup this by charging considerably higher fees than a 'normal' umbrella, usually 15% - and they put you through PAYE.
Whether that's what the OP is talking about - hard to say.
Of course you will at that rate. Hence why you're getting irate responses here. You are probably undercutting the normal market rate.My last contract was on a 190 daily rate and I know I will get a project ASAP
However, these umbrella's also have a minimum day rate you need to be working on - in order for them to recoup their costs. 190 may not be enough.Last edited by centurian; 31 January 2013, 20:45.Comment

I would never go through a dodgy company. they are registered and on the registered sponsor list. If U do not know how these work then you may not understand the process. I f you do then please pop an adviseOriginally posted by rob s View PostI'm confused. Why is the company sponsoring you not going to hire you?

.............................What would be the point of telling U who the sponsors are if you are not in a similar situation. I was an Audit/Risk consultant for a major consultancy firm. Have also worked with financial companies like banks..All on contract/projects of course.............Can you clarify what you meant by: I found the information you need in about a minute and a half. I would be putting a lot more effort in that this post if I was facing being removed from a country........Who says i AM Facing being removed from the country? A leave to remain coming to an end does not mean I will be removed. What happened to voluntarily leaving the country after my work permit ends...I asked for solutions and suggestions please.Originally posted by northernladuk View PostNot anymore you're not.

I would be highly suspicious of anyone willing to sponor you while you don't have a gig. Could you tell us who it is?
What type of role did you carry out in your last gig?Last edited by missjay; 31 January 2013, 21:46.Comment

............it is not illegal nor dodgy!!! If U are not in a similar scenario of havent been in this position then you would not understand the process...No assumptions required. only facts pleaseOriginally posted by Taita View PostI have heard of companies that just do the sponsoring but I suppose they take a %age or other fee. I think it is dodgy but probably borderline legal. Possibly it is one of those issues that HM Gov don't want to push back to hard for fear of being called racist!Comment

They have taken action against colleges/universities offering sham courses so I am sure they would take action on this type of thing if there is enough noise.
I have a feeling we won't be hearing from this poster again....
you would certainly be hearing from me...It is not an abuse of visa...U can do yourself a favour and read the TIER 2 REQUIREMENTS. ONLY HIGHLY SKILLED JOBS ARE ELIGIBLE TO APPLY FOR THIS TIER. tHERE is a Standard occupational code list which identifies occupations that fall into a shortage list..........DOES ANYONE ON THIS FORUM NOT SPEAK FROM FACTS WITHOUT ASSUMING..........PLEASE HAVE YOUR DOCUMENTED EVIDENCE BEFORE INDIRECTLY ACCUSING ME OF WHAT YOU KNOW NOT ABOUT...THANK UComment

yes sandy! Thank u....everyone seems to think this is illegal as this is what they tend to call what anything the do not know of or have not heard ofOriginally posted by sandyd View Postyes i heard of agencies/companies who charge overseas candidates a lot of money for promising to sponsor them/ or find them a sponsor, and such money is non refundable if the company/agency is unable to find them work/sponsorship etc
am afraid these companies have clear t&c so don't think they are doing anything illegal in their contracts, but i feel sorry for the majority who sign up in the hope they'd be one of the lucky ones, and never see their money again.Comment

HI LKK.....Thanks for that. I am just discouraged by the pay rates permanent companies offer....to earn 50k you probably have to be a high level staff working for several years....the going rate for my type of services are about 18k to 25k..kind of discouraging, but probably better in the long term to be honest.....thanksOriginally posted by LKK View PostI'm not sure if it is worthwhile in the long term... The best option is to get a perm role and ask the company to provide Tier 2 sponsorship for you. If you have specialist skills that they need you for, they will sponsor you
Wander if Tier 1 will be brought back??

yea, their rates are actually 250+..this is cos they also have a percentage which you pay to them, minus your regular tax. so in order to still have some decent pay left they require a high daily rate...plus, it goes without saying that the higher you earn the more skilled your job function is. hence the 250+ jobs to ensire u are actually in a ''highly skilled'' role which the Tier 2 requires.....I do not understand the irate responses here!!have i said summat wrong?Originally posted by centurian View PostThere are some umbrella's which market themselves towards Tier 2'ers.
