thanks for that!!..I came in on a student visa, then decided to stay back and work and switched to a Tier 1..and now looking to switch to a Tier 2...

Can you not stay with your Tier 1 anymore? Or get it renewed?? Because Tier 1 is the best option.

You mentioned £50k perm role is usually a senior manager with many many years of experience.... most senior managers (in finance) wil ask for more than £50k.

Looks like Tier2 has been capped to only 20700 a year. Doesn't say if that includes or excludes people switching from another visa. I would sincerely hope it includes it.

One can only stay on the Tier 1 post study for 2 years and it is a non renewable category/....

Sure we'll help you out in any way we can. We just love other people coming over on those visas and under-cutting us all with stupidly low rates.

I actually do not mind being undercut as long as they can offer the same services for better price. It is the quality of services and communication difficulties (not mentioning blaming culture and information hogging they are bringing with them, especially if en masse as often the case).

It is also the hypocrisy of 'good value for money' myth. What they are paid (even in 190 a day) is far to high considering.
