OTOH most contracts run at around £1bn. How many £600s do you think it will take to make much difference to the bottom line?Blog? What blog...?Comment

Whilst on a contract with EDS, saw some jobs advertised on the MOD with EDS but got knocked back by the agents as my SC clearance had lapsed, so I thought whilst I was still on the books I would try going direct to the supplier and same old storey – No Sc clearance not interested. This despite my current EDS line manager recommending me to the MOD (DII) EDS resource manager and me offering to fund the application process.
It just doesn’t make any sense.
Was talking to an agent only yesterday and they were telling me that EDS cannot fill all the PM roles but will not even look at candidate CV’s without SC clearance and then they moan that most of the available remaining candidates with clearance are not suitable for the role.
How dumb do you have to be for the penny not to drop?
I have given up now applying for anything requiring clearance, I wrote to DVA, Cabinet office and my MP but only the DVA replied – Sorry we get loads of contractors complaining about this very issue but there is nothing we can do – send you compliant to the Cabinet Office – Still waiting for a response.Comment

So if you leave your SC cleared role today, clearance would run out 23rd August 2008, unless you found another role requiring SC.Comment

I've got SC Clearance and it expires end of the year and I'm keen to keep my clearance level up, does anyone know of any agencies or job boards that specialise in clearance jobsComment

Oh, you want an answer....
Depends what you do, but Amtec (not Amtech, they're useless) are a good start. Also look at Qinetiq's Trusted Experts site.
Or search Jobserve for "clearance" or "SC". About 30% of all the jobs will be listed...Blog? What blog...?Comment
