MoD Security Clearance

Is it possible to get this [security clearance] working as a contract Project Manager through an agency?

Or is this a catch 22 situation i.e. you can't get it [sc] unless you have previously had it etc. Thoughts anoyone?

As a software engineer I've been having the same problem.

Can't get a contract unless you have clearance,
but can't get clearance unless you have a contract.

So why do you need it? If you don't already have a contract or job that requires it then you don't need it.

These SC threads bore me.

"oh please, it`s unfair that I`m turned down because I have no clearance"....me me me me me .

Same old story for banking, insurance etc etc etc, hard for anyone to shift sectors once established long term in one but I don`t see so many people moaning about not being able to break into banking, insurance as I do for SC jobs

Just like in a year or so when the pubby sector contracts might dry up, those in banking will prefer pubby sectory contractors to stay away but right now everyone`s trying to jump on the pubby sector bandwagon.

BTW, Bob and his frends are well established in SC jobs too.

Or even better...change your name to Security Cleared... so whenever an agent asks "are you Security Cleared?" you can say yes... best of all, it won't expire either!
