If they were stupid enough to say that in an interview then you have an age discrimination case right there.

Realistically people with 25 years to work before state retirement have to be given equal opportunity or the entire pension system will collapse.

You can’t pay for an extended holiday of 50 years off 20 years work.

This needs to be treated every bit as seriously as racism and sex discrimination.

I think I do. I am taking this further. I need to take a stand against this otherwise it will keep on happening. I have raised a grievance with the agent and asked for him to kick one off in their in house grievance procedure, or signpost me to someone in house that can help.

honestly, if they didn't mention the ages then i don't think you have a case against them. there's nothing wrong with saying 'young' team. its open to interpretation either direction

But there is everything wrong with saying he had his doubts I could adapt to such a young team. That is, in my mind at least, discrimination. Or to put it another way, would he have raised it as a concern if I was 20 years younger? No, because it wouldnt be relevant.

I applied for a permie gig. 3 day technical test. Yes, 3 days. I had to rewrite their project as it was for a much older version of. Net that would only run on Windows, and they agreed it was OK for me to do it in. NET core on Linux.

Are you 100% sure it was a test? Without taking the piss, I would expect the work you did would cost an average client about £10k.
