But what would the same role here pay?

I would guess somewhere between £400 and £550. What even with the pound close to parity with the Euro makes those offers just average, considering the cost involved and all the hassle.

Still better than sitting in the bench for months, I guess...

Into another week of chasing agents to see if they have heard anything from clients.

If they have (and it's positive), they won't need chasing over it

Nothing - there are no roles because of brexit

I know. More an attempt to give myself something to do!

Met an agent at Canary Wharf last night, he asked what I was drinking, I said a beer please. He got me a 1/2 pint - same for him, said that’s all he is allowed to buy these days until the market picks up

Says plenty of jobs for Java / micro services/ AWS guys (but nobody available) zero jobs for PM, scrum bollocks, general BA’s or everything else, he is thinking of changing career after 20 years as he has nothing to fill no commission coming in for months.

He also said the big outsource companies are offering entire teams for cost (20% of usual rate) to clients, just to keep them ticking over with a hope of picking up more business in the future

Really? One fifth of the rate? Or did you mean 20% off usual rate?
