All very good advice, although I do question if a lot of these ATS are actually a glorified word search as opposed to AI. -
And another three, same platform, this morning and it's only just past 10:00.Originally posted by oliverson View PostVery busy day today on LinkedIn.
SEVEN opportunities came my way. Maybe a couple worth investigating.
Anybody else seeing this kind of uptick?Comment

Seeing a few more roles in testing. Nothing major but a slight improvement.Originally posted by oliverson View Post

Agree oliverson - Recruiters don't want to talk to people these days...that's what I have found.
I received this email late yesterday....it is a joke: (I think they meant interviews tomorrow/Thurs...they can't even get that right...)
The below role is urgent and I will be sending CVs by 10.30am tomorrow morning, and they are aiming to do teams interviews tomorrow / Weds. Apologies but I won't have time to call and discuss the role prior to sending CVs - so if you are interested please send me the requested information below and I will shortlist based off the relevant responses
First piece of requested info what is your day rate?
So no doubt sifting on the lowest.
Not engaging with this nonsense...how do they think this is a professional way to work....I've not seen this before.
I tried to call twice no answer on the phone....jokers!

If all agents do is put CVs through ATS then short list what comes out the other side then I question what value they are adding to the process anymore. Certainly the couple of permanent roles I have been up for lately have been recruited for in house and it is all the better for it.Originally posted by Cookielove View PostAgree oliverson - Recruiters don't want to talk to people these days...that's what I have found.

Seems doubtful. Anecdotes aside, private sector payrolls are tanking, post the recent ErNI increase.Originally posted by SussexSeagull View Post

End of this year at earliest, or some time next year.Originally posted by Fraidycat View PostTalking about Europe, the ECB cut interest rates to 2% today. 8 cuts in a year.
EU 2%
UK 4.25%
US 4.25%
When will we see 2% here? Will it make any difference?
I think Michael Howell does a good job of answering that question. See the liquidity-to-debt ratio graph he puts up.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DVguHjD1bhQ
We won't see a big cut until there is an emergency requiring that cut, by which time we will be in a full blown recession or crisis. There will need to be some kind of stimulus of course to recover from that, and that will unleash the next wave of inflation. Long bonds unlikely to come under 5%, more likely to be heading higher.
Its taking much longer than I thought, but I still think its a case of things get worse before they get better.Comment

"Avoid overly decorative fonts which AI cannot physically read." - Come on! whoever wrote this is clueless. They think AI scans the document in a rasterised form and does OCR on it? Or maybe AI just extracts the text as characters in latin character set...Originally posted by avonleigh View PostInteresting article on CV's, explains a lot why people get over looked, when humans don't even read them as they go through some screening software.
