Finding new work is one thing, pre-sales, where you get a comission, is not a problem
Finding new ´people´ who you can pull into the organisation and commit their wages on a monthly basis, and you get a commission (or bonus) is the problem.

The first is business development, the second is a borderline illegal ponzi pyramid.

Over the last week or so I've noticed a bit of a pick up - Phone is ringing, been put forward for a perm role and even had an interview for an Inside gig. Starting to hear of friends and friends of friends who are finding work in other industries that are also suffering. Fingers crossed

Not seeing it myself but being a tester I have occasional observed that Project Managers see the pick up first followed by developers as they are deemed a priority to get a project started (as were Business Analysts back in the day). As most companied haven't moved testing left yet they like to save a few quid and get us in later.

Although this might be wishful thinking.

Yes generally a lot of PM roles usually means test and dev roles will follow. I am a test manager myself and yes not seen any uptick at all. A few more permie roles but contracts no difference.

Not looking at the moment but I was thinking the exact same thing. Not had much in the way of calls from agents in ages. This week I've had 3 reach out about different roles all really suited to me. At least 2 were outside and one was on the same as my highest ever rate. Might just be a blip but hopefully we're turning a corner.

looks like Citi have gone back on their hiring spree after firing hundreds of people in London last month
                Sent 5 roles this week
If people fancy data roles in a "challenging" environment check them out

"Challenging" as in difficult but interesting rewarding work? Or "challenging" as in the PM is a complete arse or the whole place is stressful, chaotic or toxic?

                      This.

I don't mind difficult technical jobs. Quite like them TBH. Allows me to test myself.

Difficult project managers though, especially ones that don't understand IT are not good for stress levels regardless of how much is being paid.

These kind of people are never satisfied, even with happy end clients and business and usually like to micro manage everything in 90min meetings daily.

Even with this level of micro managing, they still don't understand that developers like to be left alone to get on with things and their input is sufless to delivery.

                      I hate 90min meetings
                      I hate bad project managers
                      I hate technical incompetent managers

Very sure they know themselves, that they themselves are useless but attempt to cover it up by managing something that does not need managing.
