Sorry to bump this one temporarily back up the list Andy , but I just HAD to:

Fake Network Engineer - IT Contracts United Kingdom - Mobile Contractor

The 'job' has been 'filled', but not quite.....

Although there might be others with more experience of this, it really is very sad, when you have to try and gauge whether a job is real or not

I'm actually starting to wonder whether to go the same direction as another poster on here, and just delete all CF, Progressive etc 'jobs' I come across now?

        Yep, may seem sad.
As NLUK suggested, there are plenty at it.
Unfortunately been going on for years, is usually particularly bad during a slowdown / recession.
As recruitment is one of the most unregulated industries out there, I don't expect this to stop soon.

Yeah, but I think they're both from the same place? Xpat jobs?
Which looks like it's just another job board/site?

Could just be the 'remnants' somehow of what was advertised originally by CF?

Yeah Mark, I fully realise that, and I know it's been going on for donkeys years. Not new practice at all.

As I understand jobs get syndicated by aggregation sites which take feeds from our brand sites and other job boards, this one could be making us blush for quite a while.

In the UK we have over 600 recruitment consultants, unfortunately I can't put my name to every job and validate every advert (I haven't got as much time on my hands as contractors do ). I can however put my name to the culture of service we are seeking to create, posting false jobs is not needed, not acceptable and will not be tolerated.

I think every experienced contractor is aware of this practice. (always denied by agents of course) We all have our own "agencies" marked in our mind as bad. I am blacked balled by a branch of an agency in Leicester after I had a spat with one of its agents after he had been backed up against a wall by me and admitted they did it to "Harvest CV`s or in his "words" See Whats out there ! Thats after he had kept me waiting for 4 weeks on the bench in anticipation of a role coming up in my area as they had NO CONTRACTORS at all in my area and were desperate for them. I later found out he had given the same script to 3 other contractors in "my area" and when I named them he was dumstruck.
The Common theme running through this practice is that Agents/Agencies think "contractors" are stupid, they dont think that long term experienced Contractors have contacts amongst other contractors and get to know what work is about or up and coming. I find it particularly entertaining when one it "outed" in an act of stupidity as in the "fake" ad.
